# AI Overviews

> Get instant AI-generated summaries with source citations from your workspace

## Overview

AI Overviews provide Google-style AI-generated summaries that answer your questions based on your entire workspace content. Instead of browsing through multiple pages, get a comprehensive answer with citations to source pages.

## How AI Overviews Work

When you ask a question, AI Overviews:

1. **Search** your workspace for relevant pages
2. **Analyze** the content to understand context
3. **Generate** a comprehensive summary
4. **Cite** source pages with direct links
5. **Highlight** key points and important details

## Accessing AI Overviews

## AI Overview Components

### The Answer Section

The main answer provides:

* **Comprehensive response** - Detailed answer synthesizing information from multiple pages
* **Clear structure** - Organized into logical sections
* **Direct addressing** - Answers specifically to your question
* **Contextual details** - Includes relevant dates, names, and specifics

### Highlights Section

Key themes presented as a markdown bullet list:

* **Main points** - Core themes from your content
* **Important details** - Critical information like dates, locations, decisions
* **Action items** - Tasks or next steps mentioned
* **Key metrics** - Numbers, deadlines, or quantitative data

### Sources Section

Links to pages used to generate the overview:

* **Page titles** - Clear identification of source documents
* **Clickable links** - Direct navigation to full pages
* **Source validation** - Verify the AI's answer against original content

### Content Boundaries

* AI Overviews only search **content you have access to** in your workspace
* Private pages you can't access won't be included
* Deleted or archived pages are excluded

### Internet Connection Required

AI Overviews require an active internet connection:

* Cloud-based AI processing
* Real-time content analysis
* For offline AI, use **RAG Search** in Vault workspaces

## Troubleshooting

### No Overview Generated

If AI Overview doesn't appear:

1. Ensure your question is specific enough
2. Check that you have relevant content in your workspace
3. Try rephrasing as a complete question
4. Verify your internet connection

### Incomplete or Vague Answers

* Add more detail to your question
* Include time ranges, project names, or specific topics
* Check if source pages have enough information
