# Android App

> AppFlowy for Android - Install, use, and customize your mobile workspace

## Overview

AppFlowy for Android brings your collaborative workspace to any Android device. Create documents, manage databases, and collaborate with your team from anywhere.

  AppFlowy for Android requires Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later. The app supports both phones and tablets.

## Installation

<Steps>

    Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for "AppFlowy" or visit the [AppFlowy Play Store page](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.appflowy.appflowy).

  <Step title="Install the app">
    Tap **Install** to download and install AppFlowy. The app is free to download.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in or create an account">
    Launch AppFlowy and sign in with your existing account or create a new one.

    Sign-in options include:

    * Email and password
    * Magic link
    * One-Time Password (OTP)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start working">
    Your workspace will sync automatically. Access all your documents, databases, and shared pages.

### Home Screen Widgets

AppFlowy for Android offers two powerful widgets (v0.9.9+):

### Monochrome App Icon

AppFlowy supports Android's themed icons feature (v0.6.8+), allowing the app icon to match your system theme.

**To enable:**

1. Long-press the AppFlowy icon
2. Select **Icon style**
3. Choose **Themed icons** (if supported by your launcher)

### Device Support

* **32-bit and 64-bit devices**: Full support for both architectures (v0.5.3+)
* **Android 6+**: Compatible with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and all newer versions (v0.5.4+)
* **Tablets**: Optimized layouts for larger screens
* **Foldable devices**: Adaptive UI for foldable phones

## Mobile-Optimized Features

AppFlowy for Android includes touch-optimized interfaces for:

## Troubleshooting

### App won't sync

1. Check your internet connection
2. Look for the network indicator in the app
3. Ensure AppFlowy isn't restricted by battery optimization:
   * Go to Settings > Apps > AppFlowy
   * Select **Battery**
   * Choose **Unrestricted** or **Optimized** (not Restricted)
4. Try closing and reopening the app
5. Sign out and sign back in

### Keyboard won't close

1. Tap the back button
2. Tap outside the text field
3. Update to the latest version (this was fixed in v0.4.2)

### Images not loading

1. Check your internet connection
2. Clear the image cache in Settings
3. Try closing and reopening the app
4. Ensure you have storage permission enabled

### Small screen issues

* Login page overflow was fixed in v0.9.7
* Adjust the scale factor in Settings for better readability
* Use landscape mode for wider content like tables and databases

## Performance Tips

* Keep the app updated for the latest performance improvements
* Clear cache periodically in Settings > Manage Data
* Close unused workspaces to reduce memory usage
* Use compact mode for databases to see more data on smaller screens
